Operations Support Assistant

Diana Forbes

Diana Forbes joined GKTC in September of 2022 as a part-time Operations Support Assistant, helping the entire team with administrative and other day-to-day tasks so they can spend more time focused on our spellers and families. She brings decades of experience in project management and customer service from her previous positions as an elementary school teacher (private school), arts program manager (Washington Opera), technical writer (U.S. Coast Guard), and magazine managing editor (also USCG).

Diana is new to the S2C community, but is eagerly learning as much as she can! So far she's been deeply moved to observe new families' first steps, knowing it's the beginning of a process that has helped so many individuals to finally be able to share their voices.

When not at GKTC, Diana works as a certified life coach and Fair Play Method facilitator. Her professional coach training emphasized that every individual is "naturally resourceful, creative, and whole" --- a tenet she very closely relates to S2C's policy of presuming spellers' competence.

Originally from Pennsylvania and a University of Pittsburgh graduate, Diana has loved living in Herndon for 15+ years now. She, her husband, and their daughter especially enjoy live music like Friday Night Live on the Herndon Town Green, concerts at Wolf Trap National Park, performing with bands (him) and karaoke (all), and supporting their friends performing locally.
